About Us
Lampkin & Co was started in 1999 by Mark Richard Lampkin who had an extensive background in litigation being mainly in the field of personal injury. 1999 was a brave and exciting time to be a personal injury lawyer as the government withdrew legal aid for funding personal injury cases and threw this funding on the private market. This led to the invention of Conditional Fee Agreements now known as ‘No win No fee’ agreements which was embraced by Mark Lampkin and became the main stay of the funding of the firm. Lampkin & Co accepted the challenge thrown down by the government to fund personal injury cases in risky and innovative ways and to provide innocent accident victims with access to justice.
At the time it was thought that claims companies could assist clients in providing After the Event legal expense Insurance and just providing clients with the knowledge that they can claim when they had been injured through the fault of another.
Huge claims companies came into existence and Lampkin & Co were instrumental in assisting a local company called Claims (UK) Limited which became an efficient and profitable company.
Claims UK Limited became major suppliers of up to 500 personal injury cases per month to Lampkin & Co relying on their expertise to handle personal injury cases of all types. This vast knowledge of handling in total 13,000 personal injury cases on behalf of Claims UK has given us a massive advantage in handling complicated, complex and difficult cases.
Following the collapse of the Accident Group the largest claims company in the country, Claims UK unfortunately followed suit as the personal injury claims market changed dramatically. Again Lampkin & Co were at the forefront of this change and now advise clients categorically that there is no need to appoint any claims company or to allow an insurer, trade union or any other referrer to sell their case to solicitors. Whilst in the past Lampkin & Co have paid referral fees for cases it is now the stated aim of the company that such fees do not give good consumer value.
The personal injury department is staffed by senior personnel who have extensive and vast knowledge of personal injury claims. We have taken case to the High Courts being the Court of Appeal and are prepared to accept high value, high risk cases.
Lampkin & Co is now based on a modern business park in North Wales providing easy access to our clients. We will happily visit clients in any part of the country and arrange conference facilities in London at least once a month to service our Southern clients.
