We at Lampkin & Co believe that client service is absolutely paramount. We are aware that Tesco and other large organisations are entering the legal services field and will quite rightly raise the level of customer service. We have long held the view that client service is absolutely paramount. We aim to provide a better service than these big organisations because we can add the personal touch and our ground breaking client service ideas.
With our personal injury department, our philosophy is not to allow unnecessary referral fees to interfere with our representation of our clients. We have in the past paid referral fees and accepted a huge amount of referrals from various sources. The personal injury world has now changed and we must react to that and we are happy to change our ethical position. We would not say that our previous decisions to pay referrals was wrong at the time because that was how the personal injury world was being run. Now is the time for it to change and we at Lampkin & Co are at the forefront of educating accident victims that they should only speak to a solicitor. We highlight why that should be by giving incentives to contact us first. This means that we give the client and only the client the benefit rather than paying an unnecessary fee to an undeserving insurance company or trade union.
Similarly with our private client department we believe service and transparency on fees is the key. Solicitors have developed a reputation of over charging clients and this cannot be allowed to continue. In our private client department we will tell you straight how much we are going to charge, why and we will agree limits and figures with you. Legal advice is inevitably expensive as we have to pay highly trained people to be there to give you the best advice possible. This inevitably costs money and we do not expect to be the cheapest solicitors in our area. We do however insist on being the best.
We also insist on looking to constantly improve our service and to look at different ways of providing a full service to our client on the best terms available. Our Estate Agency is an example of this where we charge 1% plus VAT is the total amount you will pay including your legal costs and disbursements (not including stamp duty). This seamless service provides a ‘One Stop Property Shop’ for our clients from the initial decision to sell the house to finally moving. We are the only solicitors in North Wales to our knowledge to offer this excellent service. This is squarely in line with our company philosophy. Think, think deeply and then deeper still, think how we can attract clients to our service and how we can make their experience in dealing with us as smooth and pleasant as possible. Think about how we can give them the information they need and solve their problems. Think about how we can charge for our services in transparent and painless ways. Think, think deeper and think deeper still.
