It is with enormous saddness that I heard the news of another fellow biker so cruelly taken following a tragic road accident that proved to be fatal.

The accident occurred on one of North Wales favourite biking roads the A470 a road I have often been along on my KTM 990 SMT on a sunny Sunday morning. Whenever I read of fatal bike accidents in my area and see that the biker is of a similar age to me it sends a shiver down my spine thinking it could so easily have been me.

Another recent incident occurred on a road even nearer to me in Penyffordd when a horrific collision involving six bikes and a car  lead to the tragic death of two bikers both in their late forties just like me.

The accident last week in Dolgellau has lead to calls for the A470 in that area to be considered urgently by the Highway Authority as an earlier accident involving a lorry and a car lead to the death of an 83 year old man.

Following these two serious road traffic accidents a facebook campaign has been launched calling for action to prevent further accidents at this site which certainly gets my support. My sincere condolences go to the family and friends of Kevin Haddock at this sad time.
