A council refuse collector from Buckley died yesterday after being hit by a coach in the town of  Ffynnongroyw, Flintshire. Andrew Green, 39, was hit by the vehicle on Monday morning and spent 2 days in hospital before sadly passing away due to his injuries.

The village itself was closed off while emergency services tried to help him. Mr Green was airlifted to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire to treat his severe head injuries.

Unfortunately the damage done by the incident proved to be fatal and doctors were unable to save him. The Health and Safety Executive, responsible for investigating potential health and safety failings, have been notified and may launch an investigation into the accident.
