Lampkins offering advice following widespread concern as research confirms high failure rate

Metal Hip Implant Device

Research published in The Lancet, has shown “unequivocal evidence” that metal-on-metal hip replacements have a much higher failure rate than other options.

The publication of this data follows on from advice by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) that patients who have undergone hip replacements using a metal hip implant should be monitored annually for life.

The BBC have published an article on the high failure rate which also gives some more details on the statistics.

Mark Lampkin’s law firm, which is based near Chester, specialise in personal injury cases, offering expertise in defective medical products. The Lampkins specialist legal team are already representing metal hip implant patients from across the UK.

Mr.Lampkin said “We have seen a substantial increase in the number of metal-on-metal hip implant cases and I would urge anyone who has had a hip replacement and is unsure if they are at risk of some of the problems now being reported to speak to their doctor as soon as possible. If a patient discovers they may have a problem with their hip implant device they should contact Lampkins without delay.
