We firmly believe that a claim for compensation in any kind of case should be about the victim. We don’t think of the compensation we’re able to send to our client as the be-all and end-all. Many clients who’ve come to us with their road traffic accident claims are both unhappy because of their injuries and stressed from trying to find out what to do next.
Road traffic accident claims can often involve elements such as hiring a car, repairs and salvage. Add the liability and medical elements of the claim into the mix and it can quickly become a headache if you don’t know where to go next.
We had a recent client who experienced this exact feeling. She called us the day after her road traffic accident for help. She’d suffered personal injuries when a car coming the opposite way crossed the white line and smashed into her vehicle behind the rear wheel. This sent her car into a spin and she ended up facing back the way she’d came. Her car was written off in the crash. Like with many victims of road traffic accidents, she didn’t know where to start.
We told her not to worry and that we’d sort everything out for her so she can focus on getting better. We organised a hire car to be sent out and engineers to inspect her damaged vehicle. We managed to get a payment for the car from the other driver’s insurers so that she could purchase a new vehicle as soon as possible.
However, she’d also been offered an insultingly low amount to settle her road traffic accident claim. The offer was below the cost of her expenses, such as her physio treatment and storage costs. We fought hard to get the offer up to an acceptable level and are glad to say that the final amount was over two and a half times more.
Victims of road traffic accidents can often feel bombarded by all the things they’re expected to sort out after a crash. Luckily, we’re on hand to help and take great pride in doing so.
